Adam Stone – June 24

Adam “Stoney” Stone, was in the house last night and he rocked it. Quite the prolific poet that dazzled the crowd with his performance. It was good to have Adam back at the club. He’s also on our slam team this year so it was extra special! Adam is a mainstay in the local performance poetry scene and if you have not seen him perform you should check him out.

Joyce hosted the open mic yesterday and 1two5 won the slam so it was a good home cooking.

Rajdulari (Taz) was incredible yesterday! A marvelous talent and great performance for a hungry audience! She has a strong singing voice and equally strong poetry that made for a moving and inspiring feature. Everyone present seemed excited after the first poem and eager for more. She is the lead singer of an all female band entitled “Zili Music”. You should seek them out. Thanks Taz, you were great!

Eric Darby hosted the slam and Tai won it so it was a family affair last night. Good to have Eric back hosting. He’s moving out of town at the end of the Summer. I hope he hosts alot this Summer. Tai won a fun yet heated slam. Another gem at the Lizard!

Alice was great yesterday. Graceful and present! Sharp and subtle! She is a pro and took a few request from the audience as well. We’ve worked with her for more than a decade now and each time she excites the crowd. Thanks Alice! Until next time.

The slam was fun! Oz won the slam. He and 125 we the finalist. Both are on the slam team so that was great. Another fun night at the Lizard.

Da Butcha June 3rd

The Butcha was the featured poet yesterday and he was fun! He always has a different way of doing things and yesterday was no different. He was in a patriot mood and seemed to get everyone in a somewhat patriotic mood as well.

He has featured at the Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam many times. Infact the trio performed with him before we got to the Lizard and we have been there for 10 years now. Thanks Butcha for slicing up the meat!

Iyeoka won the slam on Sunday. Most of the Lizard Lounge Slam Team came down to slam and it was good to have them in the room. We have a good team that should do some damage at the National Poetry Slam this year.
