Yesod was great yesterday. He hasn’t featured at the Lizard in quite awhile and it was good to have him back in the club yesterday. He had a good house even though we had serious competition from the Red Sox game.
Fun slam too with Tai coming in
and taking everyone out.
Afro-DZ-Ak was great last Sunday! A wonderful multi-talented artist who dazzled us with his poetry and trumpet! It is always a pleasure to perform with this young man who had a t-shirt for every poem/song he played. It was fun, entertaining and enlightening all at the same time!
Joyce hosted the slam and it was good to have her back in the room. She’s been quite busy lately so it was nice to have her around.
Cole hosted the open mic and she was fun. Another great night at the Lizard!
We had Droopy the Brokeballer in the house yesterday. All the way from DC via New Orleans! He rocked the mic and the room! He had his flow flowing! Fun feature with a emphasis on the Hip Hop end of poetry. The audience seemed to enjoy him and the band had fun with all the beats.
The slam was fun yesterday as was the whole night. Next week we have Afro-DZ-Ak!
Every Sunday with a Poetry Slam starting at 7:30pm and a Featured Poet and Open Mic accompanied by the Jeff Robinson Trio starting at 9:00pm - there’s a $5 cover and you must be 21 to enter the venue - Sultry red lights, intimate tables, and wooden church pews give this small room one of the best ambiances in town.
