Jess was a great featured poet last Sunday! This was her first time featuring at the Lizard Lounge and it will not be her last. She is small but mighty and has a wide range of matrial but all quite sexy! Her parents were in the room to witness her first feature at the Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam. I hope they enjoyed themselves as much as we enjoyed their daughter. A wonderful and talented poet that is still young but very mature.
Alana had a great feature last Sunday!! She also got her picture in the Boston Globe to boot! Her mother and uncle flew in from FLORIDA to witness the event. FLORIDA!! Where the winters are warm and cozy!!
Alana was in fine form! She recited her poetry, sang and played bass guitar and had a good friend come in and play acoustic guitar with her so it was a great feature with a lively crowd!
Joyce hosted the slam and it was fun too. One more slam before we start the new year. And in the new year we start slamming to build our slam team to take to the National Poetry Slam!!
Marlon was the featured poet last Sunday. He came with his “A” game starting the show off with his patented “P-Poem” which is in the video above. He got the crowd into the show and we all were hopping and bobbing along to the beat! Marlon has been around for a good while now so some of the poems the audience knew and were reciting the words with him!
It was also his “30th” Birthday!! The big 30!! He doesn’t look a day over 21 to me. He did a good job of keeping the room involved and we all had another good old Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam Lovefest!!
Joyce Cunha won the slam! It was lively despite just a few slammers. It was good to have Joyce slamming again. She’s a really good poet and hopefully she will slam to make the slam team this year.
Another double feature night with Marc and Douglas performing their annual birthday feature at the Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam. They also had special guest Tom Daley sit in as well! They started out with a duet and then did some solo work. They did a piece about Miles davis that was wonderful! You can see part of it in the video above. They did an outstanding job and I look forward to next year!
We had a great slam last Sunday as we crowned Christopher Johnson the first “Lizard King.”
Every Sunday with a Poetry Slam starting at 7:30pm and a Featured Poet and Open Mic accompanied by the Jeff Robinson Trio starting at 9:00pm - there’s a $5 cover and you must be 21 to enter the venue - Sultry red lights, intimate tables, and wooden church pews give this small room one of the best ambiances in town.
