Rohan Nijhawan is a 32-year-old Cambridge born poet and activist. Born with a one of a kind unknown disease, Rohan has experienced the ups and downs in life. Although he has a disability, Rohan does not let that disability define him. He has been skydiving twice in California, mountain biking in Colorado, snorkeling in Jamaica and most recently, meeting His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. He is a self-described life of the party as many of his friends can attest to. Rohan gave his friends and family a challenge: describe his poetry in one word. Some of the words that came up were: revolutionary, smooth-truths, insightful and introspective. His eclectic style is shown through his poetry as he tells a poignant story through his eccentric narrative. His biggest influence in his poetry, and, for that matter, his life is The Legend himself, Robert Nesta Marley. Be on the lookout for his first published book, As I Lay My Horn Down, scheduled to come out very soon. Rohan is overjoyed to share his voice with the legendary Lizard Lounge crowd.
