Shilo Kuriakose
Shilo Kuriakose is an advocate for the arts as a tool for self-expression and empowerment, a medium for conversation and a catalyst for social and institutional change.
As a curator of art and creative spaces, Shilo has sought spaces for her own poetry–her first creative love–to be shared. She has been writing poetry for over 20 years including during her time attending business school. She is currently writing a book of poetry with an accompanying album about love, loss, triumph, growth, and her experiences as a first-generation immigrant and activist.
Shilo has produced theatre in North America, Europe and Asia. Her productions were used to raise awareness about social justice issues including America’s prison crisis. She has also contributed to numerous publications including Life, Rhymes & Human Rights: A Second Chance @ Success Anthology. As a co-editor, Shilo published this anthology of writing and poetry by adjudicated and court-involved youth and young adults from the Second Chance @ Success Program, which she founded. The anthology includes “report cards” grading institutions based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Shilo also edited, designed and wrote the introduction for Love is the Question & the Answer a book of poetry by scholar and activist Mel H. King.
At the Museum of Fine Arts Boston (MFA), Shilo works with youth and young adults to cultivate their creative energy and make art more accessible to everyone. Recently, Shilo curated HOMiE: In Our Eyes, an exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston that followed the theme of “home”. Shilo has also developed and launched a new pioneering STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math)

Shilo is the founder of ARTHAmetric, LLC. (www.arthametric.com). ARTHAmetric was started in order to build bridges between sectors and to “ELEVATE WELLTH and WEALTH” for its clients. Shilo has worked with numerous individuals, nonprofit organizations, cultural institutions and small businesses on visioning, strategic planning, resource development and growth. She has cultivated a diverse portfolio of clients each with their own unique missions and definitions and measurements of success.
Before starting ARTHAmetric LLC, Shilo worked as Director at Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD)—New England’s largest and oldest anti-poverty organization. At ABCD she developed and sustained programs such as Second Chance @ Success for adjudicated youth and Financial Literacy and Asset Management for residents with minimal resources to gain economic and financial freedom. For many years, she has also been organizing individuals and communities to be agents of social and institutional change.
Shilo has a B.A in both Economics and Psychology from Boston University and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University.
